This Comment is NOT About the Page...Poland, yay!

@Kotokot: You're from Poland?! That is exciting, since I'm like 25% Polish. My Great-Grandfather came to America from Krakow when he was 14. He eventually married a woman who was 100% Polish, I'm not sure if she was born in Poland or America though.

I get excited about my Polish heritage because it's the one I know most about. I guess you'd say it's the freshest, lol. My other ethnicities that I can trace accurately got back at least to great-great-great grandparents.

I still wish I knew more about Poland though.

@SoulRaider116: talk to me if you wanna know more about Poland ^ ^ I love traveling and other cultures so I'm always happy to speak about it. Have you ever been in Poland? Krakow is beautiful city *^* I have family who lives in America and they used to live in Krakow : D
I'm probably some % Chinese lol. Probably because my grand grand grand parents(I'm not sure how many grands lol xD) lived in China for a long time. It was in Harbin city where a lots of Poles were working building railways. Technically the whole family was polish, but probably someone was cheating because some of my family members looked asian, especially my grandfather and my aunt. Even I have a bit flat face and my eyes are a bit asian if you would take better look haha

@Kotokot: I've never been out of the USA. Check, I rarely get out of Pennsylvania unless I'm going into Ohio (that's a whole five minutes, lol). But one of my life goals is to travel to all six nations in my heritage, then throw in Japan for good measure, hah!

My Great grandfather had the surname Czeczot, although there may have been accent markings I don't know of...it's fun trying to get people to guess how to spell it!

And I would love to learn more about Poland from you, that would be amazing!

And Czeczot sounds so cute *-* Mostly polish surnames ends with -ski for man and -ska for woman. People are always suprised why is my dad having different surname than my mother even if its only one letter. In general almost everthig that ends with -a have a female forms of verbs etc.
In Poland addressing people is very important. We use sir/lady or Mr/Mrs a lot, also using 3rd form to talk to someone. Like for exemple if you wanna ask stranger what time is it you have to say "Could Sir tell me what time is it?". People finds 'could you tell..' very rude lol. Except when this person is about your age because young people don't bother about that much. Same in my polish work I was adressed Mrs. Marta haha because just my name would be rude and using surname too serious xDD and I was also called Mrs. Waitress by guests. But if you're very close with someone people add different ends to name to make it sound more lovely or cute. Like my name is Marta but my family call me Martusia, MartuĊ›, Martunia or Marteczka or whatever because theres a lot of forms to use xD
Also churches are very important. We have a lots of traditions and holidays that are celebrated in church. There's plenty of very religious people and even some of my friends don't eat any meat at Fridays.
I tried to pick some random facts that aren't that popular haha. From popular ones is that poles swear a lot. I mean you can say almost everything by using just swearing. Like even "i would like to eat..." can be told with single swear word lol xD

@Kotokot: Cool facts! Thanks. Those are such cute nicknames. I'm Anna, and get called Annie by my family, or on occasion Ann by people who don't know me well. I let people call me any off those three. My Great Uncle used to call me Annie Bananie. Lol, no one gets away with anything like that now that he has passed.

Anyway, religion was very important to my grandma, too. She ended up excommunicated for 50 years because she married a divorced protestant, but after he had passed away she was able to make confession and come back. It was amazing.

And once she was living with my family she wouldn't miss mass unless she was horribly ill. Once, she broke her leg coming down the altar steps on All Souls Day after placing a candle for a deceased relative and falling.

90 years old, miss steps, snaps both bones below her knee. My dad had to carry her back to the pew. She refused to leave until mass was over.
